Jam of The Day: Call It What You Want by Foster The People

Jam of The Day: Call It What You Want by Foster The People

Call It What You Want by Foster The People has officially become my summer 2011 jam.

Call It What You Want is one of the eleven songs on Foster The People’s debut album, Torches, released in May 2011. Torches is funky, poppy, and indie rock all in one. I like the album’s dual purpose: chill background and dance. There isn’t a wasted song on the album, because each one has its own catchy sound and contagious energy. The album is cohesive and flows for an enjoyable overall listening experience.

The performance you see in the video is at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, California. I used to live just down the road in Encinitas where Mr J and myself last went to the Belly Up in 2007 to see Polyphonic Spree, Rooney, and the Redwalls and a friend who was working at the bar from extra cash… my how time flies. The Belly Up always seems to get the best in emerging bands, so I’m sure the folks in the video had an awesome time.
