Mercato Agritourism Oceanside 4Did you know that in addition to being a beautiful sea side community, Oceanside, California is also an agricultural gem? Full of miles of beautiful landscapes and gently sloping farms, Oceanside’s South Morro Hills produces, along with the rest California, a great majority of the nation’s food supply on its 3800 acres.

Adapting in the face of changing economic conditions and evolving international agricultural regulations, a collective Oceanside farmers have banded together to expand awareness of its agricultural zone and expanding its business in the area of agritourism and education.

A part of this educational agritourism initiative is the Mercato-Farmers Market & Reclaimed TreasuresThe Mercato name is inspired by the Tusanesque hills of Oceanside, the event will be open to visitors who can buy direct from the grower avocados, berries, and flowers, sample wine, take a photo on a tractor and shop reclaimed treasures from the many neighbors and artisans – all while connecting with and gaining fresh insight into the agricultural region of Oceanside and its invaluable service to the community.

Bring your friends and family and join these local agricultural businesses for a day of fun, great deals, delicious foods and hidden treasures at Mercato on Saturday, June 4, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the estate Cascina Bella, a 25 acre avocado and nursery palm grove located at 745 Sleeping Indian Road.
